What's New?


Research Study Released. A research study was recently released by Metiri Group and the School District of Philadelphia (supported through Pennsylvania Department of Education EETT funds) on data-driven decision making. It reported significant academic gains in students' mathematics and language arts scores in schools where teachers used an instructional management system to inform classroom decisions, in comparison to schools where teachers were not doing so. Reports Released. Cisco Systems and Metiri Group recently released a new report, Multimodal Learning: What the Research Says. It cites a neuro and cognitive science research basis for specific uses of multimodal learning as well as insights into when interactivity and teaming strengthens such learning, and when it's advantageous for students to work individually. This is the second report in a series of research-based reports by Cisco and Metiri. The first was, Technology in Schools: What Does the Research Say? It is intended to assist educators to make informed technology investments, cautioning them to pay attention to conditions essential to effective technology use and to the fidelity of the implementation.

Metiri as Partner in National Lab. On March 23, 2006, the U.S. Department of Education awarded the contract for the Mid-Atlantic Regional Educational Laboratory to the partnership of Pennsylvania State University, Metiri Group, Rutgers University, and Caliber. Metiri looks forward to five years of exciting policy and research opportunities afforded through this partnership.
