This web-based guide is intended to support Indiana's education leaders as they design and implement comprehensive professional development for learning technologies. It offers an introduction to the many resources behind the eight steps for 'next generation' professional development, including Web sites, scenarios, books, and articles based on comprehensive research and best practices.

The "Eight Steps" are:

Step 1: Create a Shared Vision for Digital-Age Learning
Step 2: Set Professional Development Goals that Build Toward the Vision
Step 3: Assess the Readiness of Teachers Based on Agreed-Upon Metrics
Step 4: Link 'Next Generation' Strategies to Professional Development Goals
Step 5: Identify Time and Resources Available for Professional Development
Step 6: Build a Professional Development Master Plan
Step 7: Estabish the Conditions Essential for Teachers to Implement What They Learn
Step 8: Systematically Assess and Report Progress
